The Institute for Education, Teaching, and Strategic Planning of the University of Muhammadiyah Jakarta (LP4S UMJ) strengthens academic quality through Curriculum Dissemination activities with the Outcome Based Education (OBE) Paradigm. This workshop was carried out in accordance with Permendiktisaintek No. 39 of 2025 which took place at the dr. Syafri Guricci Auditorium, 5th floor of FKK UMJ, Tuesday (10/02/26).
The Chairman of LP4S UMJ, Prof. Dr. Azhari Aziz Samudra, M.Si., emphasized that the OBE paradigm is the main concern in the accreditation process. According to him, assessors will always highlight the implementation of OBE, especially the suitability between the Semester Learning Plan (RPS), Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL), and the relationship between RPL and ACPL.
“Assessors are always looking for fault points if we don’t really understand OBE,” he said.
Azhari explained that UMJ leaders, starting from the dean, vice dean, to the head of study programs, are the spearhead of the university’s progress. According to him, UMJ must strengthen the academic base at UMJ.
“It is not enough to just excel, but also to be able to maintain these advantages. The OBE that we are doing today is not just a routine agenda, but part of UMJ’s academic strategy and transformation,” he explained.
He added that the OBE paradigm requires a change in perspective in learning. The focus of education is no longer on what lecturers teach, but on the achievements of graduates, both in terms of scientific competence, skills, character, and Islamic values.
Furthermore, he emphasized that Al-Islam and Muhammadiyahan (AIK) must color all courses, including those outlined in theses and dissertations, so that OBE UMJ is not sectoral, but integrated. Through this activity, LP4S UMJ wants to ensure that all study programs are aligned between CPL and RPS and encourage real improvements in curriculum design and learning tools at UMJ.
“I hope that the number of professors at UMJ will continue to grow as part of the institution’s pride and the personal academic achievements of lecturers,” he concluded.
The OBE Curriculum Dissemination activity was filled with the presentation of material related to the curriculum of study programs at the S1, S2, and S3 levels, then continued with OBE management, as well as input of CPL based on the UMJ Academic Information System (Siakad). This activity was attended by lecturers, heads of study programs and vice deans in the UMJ environment.
