ICONPO 2026 Hungary – The issue of energy transition, technology, and environmental sustainability continues to be a global concern. Responding to this challenge, the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) has once again shown its work on the world stage.
UMY academics actively participate in the 15th International Conference on Public Organization (ICONPO) in 2026. This event took place at Eötvös Loránd University, Budapest, Hungary, on May 28–29, 2026.
In this conference entitled “Bridging Technology, Green Energy, and Environmental Sustainability” , the UMY delegation was honored as Key Panel Speakers . This strategic position is proof of international recognition of UMY’s academic contributions.
Responding to Global Challenges Through Collaboration
UMY Government Science Lecturer, Prof. Dr. Dyah Mutiarin, M.Si., emphasized that UMY’s presence at this forum carries an important mission. According to him, this forum is a forum to strengthen Indonesia’s academic contribution in answering world challenges.
“Technology, green energy, and sustainability issues require a cross-disciplinary and cross-country approach,” said Prof. Arin to UMY Public Relations online on Friday (29/5).
He added that universities have a strategic position to present real innovations. However, solving sustainability issues cannot be done by one sector or one country alone. Synergy between academics, the government, practitioners, and the community is absolutely necessary.

Their presence includes various focus of expertise. Starting from public governance, digital transformation, environmental sustainability, to health innovation.
Expand Science Networking and Diplomacy
For information, the 15th ICONPO was organized by the Asia Pacific Society for Public Affairs (APSPA). This international forum is in collaboration with PCIM Hungary, PPI Hungary, and a number of academic institutions around the world.
This active involvement is considered to open up great opportunities for UMY. Especially in expanding global academic networks and public policy research collaborations in the future.
