UMY Chancellor Enters the World’s Top Scholars in the Field of Government and Political Science in the 2025 version of ScholarGPS

The Rector of the University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY), Prof. Dr. Achmad Nurmandi, M.Sc., recorded international academic achievements. Based on the ScholarGPS 2025 ranking for the last five-year assessment period, Prof. Nurmandi is ranked 11th in the world in the specialty Government and 23rd in the world in the discipline of Political Science. In addition, through the ScholarGPS profile page, Prof. Nurmandi is also listed as a Highly Ranked Scholar – Prior Five Years with the #2 position in the Indonesian specialty.

This achievement shows global recognition of Prof. Nurmandi’s academic track record in the fields of government, political science, and studies related to Indonesia. “UMY will continue to encourage lecturers and researchers to produce scientific works that not only meet academic standards, but also have social relevance. Research in the fields of politics and government must be able to contribute to improving governance, strengthening democracy, and solving public problems,” he added.

Prof. Nurmandi’s achievements in the ScholarGPS 2025 ranking also strengthen UMY’s academic visibility at the global level. The 11th position in the world in Government, 23rd in the world in Political Science, and #2 in the Indonesian specialty is an indicator that UMY academics are able to compete in the international scientific map, especially in strategic fields related to governance, democracy, public policy, government transformation, and Indonesian studies.
