Talk Series of APSPA X Journal of Public Affairs Education will held on May 13, 2022, the invited speaker is Dr. Bruce D. McDonald III is an associate professor of public budgeting and finance at North Carolina State University. He currently serves as the editor-in-chief of Public Administration, co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Public Affairs Education, and co-editor of Routledge’s Public Affairs Education Book Series. He received his B.A. in journalism from Mercer University (2003), his M.A. in peace and conflict resolution from American Military University (2004), a M.Sc. in economic history from the London School of Economics (2005), a M.Ed. in education and instructional design from North Carolina State University (2020), and a Ph.D. in public administration and policy from Florida State University (2011). From 2003 to 2005, Dr. McDonald served as a legislative aide to Senator Bob Graham and Representative Allen Boyd.

Fighting COVID-19 Pandemic: Evaluation of the Government Crisis Communication by Prime Minister of Malaysia
Malaysia recorded the first case of COVID-19 on the 25th January 2020 and is going through the third wave of this pandemic crisis. By 28th April 2021, the cumulative numbers reported confirmed cases of COVID-19 had reached 401,593 cases including 1,477 deaths. When the Muhyiddin’s Government took over the control of Malaysia, Malaysia was recorded a significant increase in the Covid-19 infections cases caused by the Tabligh cluster. The instance actions were taken by Muhyiddin to declare a nation’s lock-down with the first enforcement of Movement Control Order (MCO 1.0) on 18th March 2020. Lock-down measures proven as a useful method to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus , as China had successfully controlled the pandemic with the lock-down measures. The rapid growth of ICT into the internet as the primary communication tool is the background for the transformation of communication technology from conventional to all-digital. It is noted that 63 million people in Indonesia are internet users and 95% of them use social networking sites. The Government of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) makes technology services rely on official documents, websites, and applications that can be accessed by the people of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) to make it easy for the residents of NTB to get disaster information. Mapping the Public-Private Partnership in Digitalization of Refueling Station PT. Pertamina in Indonesia
The development of technology in the current digitalization era has encouraged PT Pertamina (Persero) to innovate in its business continuity, especially in the downstream sector. Some examples of downstream business development innovations range from digitizing gas stations, managing social media, and creating a new program for one-price BBM fuel distribution. The program is called One Price BBM, which aims to make fuel distribution more transparent and efficient. Pertamina has full responsibility for energy sustainability in Indonesia and must follow the developments of the current digitalization era. The digitization of gas stations includes the provision of digital gas station infrastructure, Data Center and Connectivity at 5,518 gas stations or 75,000 nozzles throughout Indonesia.
